Key Role: Risk Modelling Lead Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Modelling Lead Analyst to join our team at NatWest Group. As a key member of our risk management function, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining effective and compliant statistical risk and decision support models and related analytics.

Your primary focus will be on delivering analytics and performance MI relating to risk models and for the development of new and enhanced approaches, in support of improved business and customer outcomes. You will work closely with business stakeholders to provide advice and support on model use, model impact, and model implementation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert advice and support to business stakeholders on risk models and model frameworks
  • Developing and maintaining well-documented models that meet the bank's standards and requirements
  • Supporting regulatory engagement and internal governance in relation to risk models and model frameworks
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver all milestones to agreed dates, budget, and quality standards

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Risk Modelling Lead Analyst who has a strong background in data-driven analysis and statistical or mathematical modelling. You will have experience of working in a modelling function or a related quantitative function, preferably in a retail or wholesale banking environment.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Qualification to degree level in a numerate discipline
  • Experience of risk systems, methodologies, and processes in a retail or wholesale banking environment
  • Strong programming skills, ideally on large datasets in a mainframe or server environment
  • Excellent team working skills and ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
