About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nutritionist to join our team at Chartwells - Schools. As a Nutritionist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our operations and providing high-quality nutrition services to our pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of medical diet menus for pupils with allergies and intolerances.
  • Ensure compliance with Food Information Regulations (FIR) by providing up-to-date allergy information.
  • Manage day-to-day queries from parents, pupils, and clients regarding medical diets.
  • Contribute to the development of new recipes and menus.
  • Deliver medical diet training to colleagues.
  • Attend meetings with parents and clients to discuss medical diet provision.
  • Maintain accurate records of medical diet information in our menu management systems.
  • Manage sensitive pupil allergy information with confidentiality.
  • Review and update policies and procedures related to medical diets.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support the development of the Chartwells Nutrition and Health strategy.
  • Contribute to nutrition education and training for clients and colleagues.
  • Ensure nutritional compliance of the food offer, including analysis of recipes and ingredients.
  • Support innovation in nutrition initiatives.
Requirements
  • Graduated within the last 2 years with an accredited degree (BSc) or higher in Nutrition.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience working with people with allergies and intolerances (desirable).
  • Experience using nutritional analysis systems such as Saffron (or equivalent).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage a busy inbox and work under pressure.
  • Ability to multitask and excellent organizational skills.
  • Team player.
  • Conscientious and determined about championing the wellbeing of children.
  • Excellent IT skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Proven record of meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently without constant guidance from a line manager.
  • Passion for keeping up to date with research and legislation.
  • Punctual and a good time keeper.
  • Experience working in the food industry is also desirable.
