About the Role

TLT is seeking a highly motivated Contract Senior Paralegal to join our esteemed Public Inquiries Team. This role offers an initial 6-month contract with the potential for extension, providing you with valuable experience in a dynamic legal environment.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of complex legal issues to effectively review and categorize diverse evidence and contracts.
  • Utilize e-disclosure platforms and specialized systems (full training provided) to implement relevance and redaction policies, ensuring accurate disclosure to relevant stakeholders.
  • Leverage AI contract review tools (comprehensive training provided) and your legal expertise to identify and advise on key contract terms and overarching themes.
  • Collaborate closely with fee earners within the team, providing regular updates on progress and demonstrating exceptional communication skills.
  • Provide crucial support to Counsel on significant matters related to the Inquiry, contributing to successful case outcomes.
  • Play a vital role in evidence gathering, collation, and publication, including utilizing e-disclosure platforms for document review, tagging, and creation of electronic bundles for obtaining evidence from witnesses.
  • Contribute to Restriction Order processes by liaising closely with Counsel and Solicitors regarding applications to restrict evidence, applying redactions, and undertaking all necessary tasks.
  • Support hearings by arranging court logistics, liaising with core participants, preparing comprehensive bundles, attending hearings, and managing follow-up work.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 12 months of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal.
  • A willingness to undergo SC Clearance (arranged upon employment offer).
  • Proven experience within a private practice law firm environment.
  • While Public Inquiries case handling experience is desirable, it is not essential for this role.
  • Demonstrated accuracy, exceptional organizational skills, and flexibility in managing multiple tasks.
  • Previous experience with Relativity, Kira, or other legal technology platforms is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A proven ability to manage concurrent projects effectively, thrive under pressure, and prioritize work from diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional legal drafting skills are essential for success in this role.
