Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to design, develop, and deploy Business Intelligence (BI) data solutions across our Professional Services (PS) business. This includes developing data models and pipelines, reports, Power BI dashboards, and KPI scorecards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop BI data solutions using Power BI, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and DAX.
- Oversee and create complex tabular models, including SQL database development to store data in a manageable reporting format.
- Use SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) for larger data models, including complex DAX.
- Conduct business analysis and requirements gathering with stakeholders to design the best technical solution and translate to the team for development.
- Create automated sustainable reporting solutions and identify improvements in existing processes to enhance efficiency and tackle technical debt.
- Monitor security in Power BI and incorporate Row Level Security (RLS) into data models.
- Create Power BI Gateways, Workspaces, and Apps, ensuring appropriate access is applied.
- Document processes, database models, and architecture plans.
- Bring together multiple data sets into defined and sustainable solutions to deliver 'one source of truth' to the business.
- Work closely with different teams across the business to improve data literacy and empower teams with the right tools, reports, and guidance to leverage insight to make better-informed decisions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong experience with MS Power BI & DAX.
- Strong experience in SQL for querying, analysis, and optimization.
- Experience using Microsoft Development (Visual Studio) tools to develop and manage database & BI projects.
- Understanding of best practices to deliver compelling data visualizations & reports.
- Understanding of industry-standard data warehousing modeling techniques.
- Knowledge of ETL using a variety of data sources.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Understanding of processes, data, and strategic priorities.
- Ability to design solutions that meet user needs, allowing for design and ethics standards.
- Work towards the successful delivery of products and establish maintenance requirements.
Professional Qualifications and Education
- STEM preferred but experience above more essential.
- PowerBI certifications preferred.
