Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Highway Project Supervisor to join our team at Matchtech. As a key member of our contract administration team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of highway projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • **Contract Administration**: Ensure the contractor adheres to the contract specification, testing, and certification requirements, promoting best practice across the delivery team.
  • **Site Management**: Observe the contractor's working operations for compliance with the specification and oversee the recording of daily on-going works, including plant, people, gangs, and weather.
  • **Quality Control**: Organize and inspect works that will be covered up as part of the permanent works, agree defective works with the contractor, and record on the site quality systems and within CEMAR.
  • **Defect Management**: Ensure the contractor closes out defects within the specified timescales, managing any defects not resolved in a timely manner.
  • **Health and Safety**: Observe the on-site health and safety aspects of the contractor's operations and inform the project manager of key H&S risks and areas for improvement.
  • **Communication**: Attend meetings as requested by the project manager and liaise confidently with the contractor on all technical matters and inspections.
Requirements
  • **Experience**: Significant experience within the highway and bridge sector, including leading a supervision and technical team.
  • **Knowledge**: Familiarity with the MCHW - Specification for Highway Works and ability to attend site as required.
  • **Certifications**: Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification, experience in using CEMAR for recording defects, and NEC4 ECC Supervisor accreditation.
Competencies and Behaviours
  • **Communication**: Good communication and negotiating skills within a collaborative team environment.
  • **Record Management**: Excellent record management skills, including the use of app-based record-keeping products.
  • **Technical Knowledge**: Familiarity and competence in the application of office software.
Reporting and Communication
  • **Reporting**: The supervisor shall report directly to the project manager as part of the contract administration team.
  • **Communication**: The supervisor shall liaise independently with the contractor's operational team on a day-to-day basis and manage the inspectors to ensure the contractor's quality is maintained.
Working Location

On-site presence is required for the entire working week for the duration of the works.
