Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clerk of Works to join our team at Matchtech. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our contractors adhere to contract specifications, testing, and certification requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and record daily ongoing works to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
  • Inspect works and collaborate with contractors to correct defective works.
  • Agree and record defective works on site quality systems.
  • Suggest improvements to the supervisor.
  • Monitor health and safety aspects of the contractor's operations.
  • Attend meetings as requested by the supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Significant practical work experience within the highways or bridge sector.
  • Trade qualification or HNC in civil or building-related discipline.
  • Familiarity with the MCHW and associated testing and inspection protocols.
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications and understand key testing points.
  • Driving licence.
  • CSCS card.
  • NRSWA supervisor for highways inspection.
Competencies & Behaviours:
  • Ability to liaise confidently with the contractor on testing and inspection matters.
  • Teamwork skills and willingness to request support when necessary.
  • Proactive in issue resolution.
  • Diligent and logical in problem-solving and record-keeping.
  • Confidently address unsafe health and safety practices.
  • Good communication skills for a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent record management skills, including using app-based products.
  • Competency in office software and data capture devices and apps.
