Your Role as a Procurement Operations Manager
In this collaborative role, you will engage with internal Amazon stakeholders, diverse procurement colleagues, and external suppliers to secure value-driven solutions for the business.
As a strategic business partner within one of our logistics facilities, you will:
- Analyze business requirements, ensuring they are well-founded, and provide insightful recommendations. Manage intricate projects with significant budgets, risks, confidentiality, and time constraints across multiple locations.
- Establish strong relationships with stakeholders, delivering exceptional service by assessing project scopes, negotiating with suppliers on costs, timelines, and other critical factors for various projects.
- Leverage a range of applications and systems to deliver precise metrics, reporting, and data, including supplier performance metrics. Enhance existing tools to evaluate opportunities and risks related to expenditures, categories, suppliers, and legal considerations.
- Oversee the Site Procurement Operations Process from identifying needs to contract execution and follow-up, encompassing sourcing, supplier due diligence, negotiation, and risk assessment using ERP tools.
- Draft and implement contractual agreements, ensuring compliance from suppliers and managing the entire contract lifecycle.
- Support national and EU-wide procurement initiatives, collaborating proactively with other Global Procurement Teams.
- Monitor Supplier Performance to maintain high service levels regarding lead times and quality, ensuring proper governance and compliance.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a specific category, identifying savings opportunities and supporting strategy development.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align with Amazon's sustainability objectives by minimizing waste and ensuring compliance with corporate social responsibility standards.
- Achieve targeted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that deliver value, including savings and sustainability metrics.
- Promote adherence to company policies, educating stakeholders on procurement guidelines.
- Provide training to fellow buyers on essential functional skills.
