Academy Educator

The Academy Educator will play a crucial role in providing clinically based practice development and education to the non-medical workforce at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This position requires an experienced and knowledgeable practitioner who can facilitate independent learning, work to an agreed job plan, and manage their time effectively to balance clinical education and administrative activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Acting as an exemplary role model for best clinical practice and Trust values
- Working alongside learners to facilitate their independent learning
- Working to an agreed job plan to maximise education delivery to support staff and patient safety/experience
- Managing their own time to ensure a balance between clinical education and education administrative activities
- Actively promoting and contributing to an inter-professional learning environment
- Delivering education programmes at a divisional level and where required cross divisionally in support of organisational priorities
- Working as part of the local and corporate practice development teams
- Assisting in anticipating and addressing the educational needs of the service
- Working across boundaries to proactively develop and sustain partnerships
- Participating in audit, service improvement and research projects relevant to the clinical educator role
The Academy Educator will be expected to maintain a high standard of person-centred, holistic care, draw upon an appropriate range of multi-agency and inter-professional resources in their practice, and work independently and within a team structure according to the standards set by their professional body.
The successful candidate will be a role model and resource for evidence-based practice, work with the multi-disciplinary team leads to deliver practice development and education strategy, and provide data to the senior practice development and education team to assist with the collation of the yearly training needs analysis.
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country, providing a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and serving as a base for medical education, training, and research.
The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.
