Cathcart Technology is seeking a skilled Technical Support Specialist to become a vital part of our forward-thinking and eco-friendly organization within the Timber sector. This position is based on-site and plays a crucial role in delivering extensive technical assistance and upkeep throughout our operations.


As a member of our energetic IT team, you will report directly to the IT Support Manager. Your main responsibility will be to aid system users with their computing needs and IT maintenance, ensuring that issues are resolved efficiently from the moment they are reported until they are fully addressed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st Line IT and Helpdesk Support.
  • Manage and escalate tickets through our Ticket Management System, including handling requests via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Configure and assemble machines from the ground up.
  • Assist in the installation and configuration of servers.


Required Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Support Specialist.
  • Proficiency in supporting Desktop, Laptop, and Server environments.
  • Familiarity with Windows 7, 10, and 11 Operating Systems.
  • Experience with Office 365 support.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, and VMware.


In return, we offer a competitive salary range of £25,000 - £30,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. While our organization has multiple locations across the UK, this role requires full-time on-site presence. We are looking for candidates who are already within a reasonable commuting distance. Additionally, there may be occasional travel to other office locations.


The selection process will consist of two interview stages: the first will be conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams, followed by an in-person interview.
