Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the college premises to a high standard of cleanliness, ensuring all areas are clean and tidy, and that all cleaning equipment and materials are in good working order.

Key Duties

  • Clean all rooms, including classrooms, offices, toilets, cloakrooms, staircases, corridors, halls, and other areas in use
  • Identify and rectify any cleaning issues in consultation with the Cleaning Supervisor
  • Monitor and order cleaning equipment and materials as required
  • Operate cleaning machinery, including vacuum cleaners and polishers
  • Maintain confidentiality and prevent disclosure of confidential and sensitive information
  • Perform additional cleaning duties as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor or Soft Services Manager
  • Report any defects or hazards to the Cleaner in charge
  • Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed in accordance with company policies

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in a cleaning environment, preferably multi-site
  • BICSc certification to an appropriate level (not essential)
  • A proactive attitude and self-driven approach
  • Good communication skills and ability to form relationships with clients
  • Approachable demeanor and commitment to team working
  • A track record of delivering a similar role
  • Commitment to continuing professional development
