Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team at Sanderson. As a Senior DBA, you will be responsible for managing critical and complex database environments, ensuring the security and integrity of our data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Manage database access and security, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, implementing optimization strategies to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the senior management team to develop and implement database strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the wider team, mentoring junior DBAs and sharing knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Expert understanding of SQL database design and maintenance principles.
  • Proven ability to manage critical and complex database environments.
  • Strong knowledge of security and database maintenance, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
  • Practical experience with database installation, backup, restore, and maintenance, including database backups, restores, and recovery models.
  • Experience with SQL Server high availability and provisioning.
  • Good commercial awareness and client/contract management skills.
