Advanced Colorectal Practitioner

Position Overview
The successful candidate will operate independently as an advanced practitioner within the Colorectal specialty team, delivering patient-focused clinical care. This role will require advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within a defined scope of practice. The practitioner will also support innovative working methods aimed at enhancing service efficiency and patient satisfaction, ensuring safe treatment, referral, and discharge processes for patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions.
Key Responsibilities
The individual will be tasked with providing expert clinical care and guidance in patient management, utilizing sound judgment and decision-making skills in accordance with their scope of practice and the advanced clinical competency framework established by the MSc program and specialty credentialing. Responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseload of patients, delivering tailored direct patient care for assessment, examination, investigation, and diagnosis.
- Administering appropriate treatments to ensure safe management and proper referral or discharge of patients.
- Receiving referrals from various sources, including direct patient referrals, and prioritizing clinical tasks according to established protocols.
- Participating in multidisciplinary clinics, ward rounds, patient reviews, and team meetings.
- Utilizing a range of clinical skills to provide treatment and advice in line with specialty guidelines.
This role may be performed in various healthcare settings, including acute secondary care, primary care, community, or home care environments.
