We are offering a full-time opportunity for a Band 6 Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist, with the potential to advance to Band 7 upon successful completion of necessary training and competencies, within the Urology Department.

This role presents an exciting chance to become part of a highly skilled Specialist Nurse team and to further your nursing career in the Urology Service. The Urology Service is a significant and growing specialty, and this position will play a crucial role in the ongoing development of our services.

We seek a dynamic, motivated, and enthusiastic individual. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within our established service. Demonstrating clinical excellence in Urology nursing practice and having extensive post-registration nursing experience is essential. Familiarity with improvement methodologies, as well as experience in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) and Urology stoma care, is also required.

Qualified candidates should be capable of working efficiently and effectively, utilizing their initiative to make informed decisions based on evidence-based practice and research. The ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment is crucial.

The Urology Service collaborates across NHS Grampian to deliver integrated and clinically effective care for patients with urological conditions. The successful candidate will conduct nurse-led clinics, including transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) and prostate biopsies, as well as face-to-face and telephone follow-up consultations for patients. Additionally, the candidate will provide guidance, support, information, and education to patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals involved in the management of patients with prostate cancer.

Comprehensive support will be provided for training and the completion of competencies.
