About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Factors Lead to join our team at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Patient Safety team, you will play a critical role in improving patient safety and quality of care across the Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on ergonomics and human factors to the Trust and healthcare partners.
  • Contribute to the patient safety and incident management process, ensuring that patient safety strategies, systems, and processes are designed and managed to take account of human behavior and performance.
  • Assist healthcare professionals across the Trust to deliver safer care through an understanding of teamwork, tasks, equipment, workspace, culture, and organization.
  • Support awareness building, capability, and effective use of ergonomics and human factors to improve patient safety across the Trust.
  • Proactively participate in the design of the Trust human factors education strategy and contribute to its delivery.

Requirements
  • Education to degree level, with a qualification in human factors or a related field.
  • Registered member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) and working towards chartership.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare or high-risk industry, with a demonstrable track record of applying human factors knowledge and skills to improve outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams and stakeholders.
