Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a Year 6 class. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ASC and ADHD and be able to develop and implement effective strategies to support these pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Year 6 Teacher to develop and implement individualized support plans for SEND pupils
  • Provide one-to-one support to pupils with ASC and ADHD, helping them to stay focused and engaged in class
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation, ensuring that all materials and resources are accessible and suitable for SEND pupils
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure that they are informed and involved in their child's education

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ASC and ADHD
  • Strong understanding of SEND policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively
