Position Title:
Special Educational Needs Support Assistant, Opportunities for Full-Time and Part-Time Roles

We are in search of a committed and enthusiastic SEN Support Assistant to become a vital part of our team, contributing positively to the educational journeys of our students.


Role Summary:

In the capacity of an SEN Support Assistant, you will partner closely with the school's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to provide essential support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the customized assistance necessary for their academic and social success.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver individualized or small group support to students with SEN, both within the classroom and in other settings.
2. Assist educators in executing personalized education plans (IEPs) and necessary accommodations for students with SEN.
3. Collaborate with the SENCO, teaching staff, and families to track student progress and modify support strategies as required.
4. Aid students in developing crucial life skills, fostering independence, and building self-esteem.

Qualifications and Skills:

Previous experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs is preferred.
Attributes such as patience, empathy, and a sincere commitment to addressing the diverse needs of students with SEN are essential.
Relevant educational qualifications in fields such as education or psychology are beneficial but not mandatory.
A willingness to participate in relevant training and ongoing professional development is expected.
A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are highly desirable.
