Job Summary

Magellan Aerospace Limited is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in Blackpool, UK. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating machining cells, working with aluminum and/or titanium metal parts on 2, 4 and 5 Axis machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate machining cells, including setting and operating machine tools
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and colleagues
  • Carry out component change overs for own machines and colleagues as required
  • De-burr components, including removal of sharp edges and cleaning of holes
  • Route work as necessary to next operation as per work instructions or team leader direction
  • Resolve machining problems with minimum supervision
  • Escalate unresolved problems to Shift Leader, Team Leader, or Manager as required
  • Provide accurate handover information to next shift on current status and any issues arisen
  • Ensure all job card documentation is filled in correctly before moving onto next operation
  • Work in line with all company requirements, including following work-to list and set up sheets
  • Maintain a safe working environment, complying with all risk assessments and procedures in line with company Health and Safety policy
  • Support and contribute to the continuous improvement programme and lean manufacturing
Requirements
  • Good general education
  • Time served recognized engineering Apprenticeship, minimum of City & Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of 3,4 and 5 Axis machining experience
  • Knowledge of Controls, Health and Safety, and Aerospace manufacturing experience
