Electronics Hardware Design Engineer

About the Role

Carrier Corp is seeking a skilled Electronics Hardware Design Engineer to join our team in Herne Bay, Kent. As a key member of our multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing new wireless fire detection products, including panels, sensors, wireless communication devices, and user interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, document, and release to production new wireless fire detection products.
  • Develop specifications for electronic products, assemblies, and parts.
  • Create schematic drawings and PCB layouts of product designs using Altium designer CAD package.
  • Plan and perform tests to verify that products achieve performance and reliability goals.
  • Ensure regulatory and safety compliance by providing required information and documentation for third-party approval processes.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of embedded electronics design obtained through a recognized university degree.
  • Ability to create complex circuit designs and create schematic drawings using modern CAD tools.
  • Experience working with RF designs and associated standards for ensuring compliance with regulatory norms.
  • Good understanding of embedded software and automated test methods for cross-functional team collaboration.
