We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Publisher to join our team at Elsevier. As a Senior Publisher, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of journals within the haematology specialty and prestigious society-owned titles in anaesthesiology.
Key Responsibilities- Content Growth and Quality: Develop and implement strategies to drive content growth, improve quality, and achieve a balance between subscription and open-access articles.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain influential relationships with Elsevier colleagues, external networks, and stakeholders to drive creativity and new product development.
- Contract Management: Renew and negotiate editorial and society contracts to ensure successful partnerships.
- Business Development: Identify and act on opportunities for launching and acquiring new journals, and participate in projects and pilots of new products, services, or business models.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with trends in Scientific, Technical, and Medical (STM) publishing to maintain awareness of changes and developments.
- Education: University degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: Previous experience in STM publishing, with a strong understanding of the industry and its trends.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Teamwork: A team-oriented approach, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful initiatives.
- Adaptability: A can-do attitude, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel: Ability to travel three to four weeks per year, based on customer needs.
