About the Role

The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority is seeking a highly skilled professional to drive the delivery of its strategic growth plans for the Digital Infrastructure, Creative and Media sector. As an Economic Growth Champion - Digital Infrastructure, Creative and Media, you will play a key role in achieving the Combined Authority's ambition for inclusive and sustainable growth across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive growth in the Digital Infrastructure, Creative and Media sector, working closely with key stakeholders and delivery organisations.
  • Identify and secure funding opportunities to support the delivery of Digital Growth initiatives in the CPCA region.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key central Government Departments to further the Combined Authority's position as a leader in Digital and attract relevant funding.
  • Work with the Combined Authority's Skills Team to define priority skills and workforce sector needs in the Digital sector.
  • Support the development of a Combined Authority Internationalisation plan and Innovation plan, focusing on the Digital sector.
  • Lead on the review of the current Digital Strategy and associated Action Plan, ensuring it is fit for purpose and meets current and future requirements.
  • Provide a strategic policy view of the potential for growth of the Digital Sector within the Combined Authority area, identifying areas for growth and funding.
  • Analyse the current and future needs and issues of the sector to help prioritise key projects and delivery of support programmes and interventions.
  • Work with the Mayor's Office and key central Government Departments to create opportunities for the Combined Authority to influence and bid for national funding opportunities.
  • Develop a key network of Digital organisations and businesses across the Combined Authority area and wider regional partners, supporting the development of business cases and joint working possibilities.
  • Support the International, Trade and Investment Manager in managing relationships with Local Authority officers, CEOs, and Combined Authority Leaders in relation to the Digital sector.
  • Work with the C&P Skills Team to identify and articulate priority talent and skills needs across the sector.

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in Digital Infrastructure, Creative and Media, and economic growth. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and delivery organisations. You will also have a proven track record of developing and implementing successful strategies to drive growth and innovation in the Digital sector.
