About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Specialist Oncology Nurse to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with complex oncology needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as an expert oncology nurse within our Acute Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist team, managing a caseload of patients and providing clinical, emotional, psychological, and social support.
  • Advise admitting teams on appropriate management of acute oncology presentations and ensure patients and their families are fully informed and supported.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based clinical nursing practice, in line with current research and guidelines, to improve patient outcomes.
  • Establish clear lines of communication within the specialty team to ensure cohesive multidisciplinary management of patients.
  • Participate in the development of clinical protocols and strategies to enhance the continuity and standard of specialist care, ensuring equity of access to the service.
Person Specification
  • Relevant post-registration qualification and evidence of professional development.
  • Educated to Degree level.
  • Chemotherapy course and competency (SACT Passport).
  • NMC registration.
  • Breaking bad news training.
  • Advanced communication training.
Working Arrangements

This is a full-time position, working 10 months fixed term contract. The salary is £54,320 to £60,981 per annum, including HCA.

Location

The role is based at King's College Hospital/Princess Royal Hospital - Cross Site.
