Assistant Head of Service Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Head of Service to join our team at James Andrews Recruitment Solutions Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, guiding, and managing a team to achieve customer and service goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting and developing the team to ensure the achievement of customer and service goals
  • Ensuring the maintenance of a safe and pleasant environment for customers in association accommodation
  • Managing and monitoring the service to ensure cost efficiency and value for money
  • Administering occupancy agreements and tenancy terminations as necessary
  • Providing practical support and counseling to customers on various matters
  • Taking responsibility for safeguarding and health and wellbeing concerns for customers and staff
  • Maintaining rotas and ensuring effective management at the scheme
  • Conducting regular property audits and reporting to the management team
  • Monitoring team performance through appraisals, audits, training, and inductions

Requirements:

  • Experience in managing a team within a Homeless Support service
  • Working with vulnerable clients and mediating complex situations
  • Monitoring health and safety and safeguarding concerns in line with regulations and policies

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Homelessness and Housing legislation
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently
