The Opportunity:
Avantor is seeking a Quality Control Technician to be responsible for completing routine product quality checks of HPLC columns and a range of in-house manufactured separation media, ensuring that all finished products meet the required specifications.
This role will be a full-time position based out of our Hichrom, Theale/Reading site.
The Team:
The Quality Control Technician is part of a team of 6.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality checks on HPLC columns and in-house manufactured separation media
- Ensure all finished products meet the required specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and validation activities
- Conduct analytical QC performance tests to ensure lot-to-lot reproducibility
- Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) products
- Collaborate with the team to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Previous quality control experience (lab or food related)
- Good understanding of COSHH
- Understanding of ISO9001/14001
- Working knowledge of chromatography desired but not essential
- Keen attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work independently
- Aware of general hazards in a laboratory
