Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Principal Electrical Engineer - Power Systems Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex electrical power systems and lead a team of engineers in the design and development of cutting-edge solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and Development: Lead the design and development of electrical power systems, including functional design and definition of equipment.
  2. Technical Documentation: Author and review technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  3. Risk Management: Manage associated technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies, ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
  4. Technical Expertise: Provide advice on electrical power technical aspects across a broad range of engineering disciplines, including AC and DC electrical power systems.
  5. Customer and Supplier Engagement: Engage with customers and suppliers to provide solutions to complex problems, ensuring customer satisfaction and supplier partnerships.
  6. Team Leadership: Take a leading role by guiding more junior members of the team through the systems definition process, mentoring and developing their skills.
  7. Travel Opportunities: Opportunity to travel to various locations throughout the UK, including BAE, customer, and supplier sites, to collaborate with stakeholders and deliver projects.
Requirements:
  1. Qualifications: Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering experience.
  2. Professional Development: Engineering Chartership required (or significant progress towards Chartership can be demonstrated).
  3. Technical Knowledge: Significant knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems.
  4. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
