Responsibilities

As a Medical Transport Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe transportation of our clients to and from programming facilities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing safe and legal vehicle practices at all times
  • Transporting clients from designated pick-up and drop-off areas
  • Responding promptly to transportation requests
  • Providing transportation to residents for community outings and meetings in a safe and legal manner
  • Maintaining and servicing company vehicles
  • Communicating vehicle maintenance needs in a timely manner
  • Acting as a courier for mail or deliveries between program sites
  • Assisting in transporting or picking up client food
  • Ensuring client safety by using verbal de-escalation methods to redirect client behaviors and prevent/respond to crisis
  • Practicing compliance with all policies, record keeping requirements, checklist assignments, assigned documentation, and any other assigned duties
  • Remaining current and up-to-date on all training and certifications required to maintain employment with Newport Healthcare
  • Providing support to assigned programs, with program assignment subject to change based on operational need

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school degree or GED
  • A valid driver's license and eligibility for automobile insurance coverage with the company's vehicle
  • A clean driving record
