Estimator/Buyer Opportunity

An exciting role has become available for an experienced Estimator/Buyer to join our reputable fire and security business based in the Birmingham area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for customer projects, ensuring a competitive edge in the market.
  • Review project specifications, blueprints, and client requirements to determine the scope of work and associated costs.
  • Obtain and analyze quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure quality standards and profitability.
  • Communicate with clients to clarify project requirements, address concerns, and provide updates on estimates and proposals.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, project changes, and cost variations, providing regular reports to management.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the Fire and Security industry or a related field.
  • Familiarity with cost estimation software and techniques is essential.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Strong prioritization skills and ability to manage own workload, working under pressure and to deadlines.
