Transport Planner Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our client's team in the Witham area. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with a competitive salary of up to £28,000 per annum, negotiable based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive Regulations, maintaining accurate records.
  • Verify vehicle and driver registration, and ensure fleet ownership and maintenance are up to date.
  • Maintain DVSA file check sheets, ensuring full compliance.
  • Conduct regular vehicle and trailer inspections, adhering to maintenance schedules.
  • Manage insurance records, fleet records, and DVSA records of fleet changes.
  • Implement FORS Fuel & Emissions Champion initiatives.
  • Perform drivers' vehicle, trailer, and equipment safety checks according to guidelines.
  • Ensure safety, maintenance, and inspection documents are properly maintained.
  • Develop and implement Transport Risk Assessments and Safe Working Practices.
  • Investigate transport accidents and near misses, reporting incidents.
Requirements:
  • Experience in planning express or same-day van drivers.
  • Knowledge of vehicle weights and legal limits.
  • Experience with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive Regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience in the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain industry.
