Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Orthopaedic Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Orthopaedic Physiotherapy team, you will be responsible for providing advanced assessment and treatment for patients with complex orthopaedic conditions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced assessment and treatment for patients with complex orthopaedic conditions, including those requiring respiratory support.
  • Supervise and teach less experienced physiotherapists, technicians, and assistants to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Support the team lead with operational management, including the development and implementation of new services and initiatives.
  • Participate in continuing professional development, including audit and evidence-based projects, to ensure best practice and improve patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and planning of Orthopaedic services across the Trust, including the implementation of policy and changes in clinical practice.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Evidence of a Physiotherapy Degree (BSc or MSc equivalent).
  • Documented evidence of self-development and relevant continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Experience of working in Trauma and Orthopaedic services, including short stay/day surgery.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage a busy and complex caseload.
  • Ability to supervise and teach less experienced staff, including students and technicians.
