Position Overview

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to provide exceptional care to our breast cancer patients. This part-time role, encompassing 32.5 hours per week, involves working across multiple sites on designated weekdays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive support, guidance, and information to individuals diagnosed with early and secondary breast cancer.
  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive holistic and coordinated care.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of surgical and oncological treatment protocols for breast cancer patients.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

  • NMC Level 1 registration is essential.
  • Possession of a First Degree in a relevant discipline or actively pursuing one is preferred.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal, professional, and academic development is highly valued.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of current clinical and professional best practices within oncology nursing.
  • Familiarity with cancer treatment plans and supportive care guidelines.
  • Proven experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including a minimum of Band 6 level.
  • Strong collaboration skills with various agencies and experience in patient advocacy.
