Senior Speech and Language Therapist for Geriatric Care

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Speech and Language Therapist to oversee communication and swallowing therapy pathways for elderly patients. The ideal candidate will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional care for individuals experiencing neurological and mental health challenges.
As the lead therapist, you will leverage your exceptional organizational and communication abilities to guide both staff and patients, ensuring optimal outcomes in Speech and Language Therapy at our facilities. This role includes the mentorship of junior therapists and support staff, with a focus on managing complex cases involving dysphagia and communication disorders.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will possess a degree in Speech and Language Therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Significant postgraduate experience working with elderly patients facing acquired neurological and progressive communication and swallowing disorders is essential. Familiarity with Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) is advantageous, although training will be provided.
You will demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and possess excellent communication and prioritization skills. An accredited qualification in dysphagia is required, and an advanced qualification would be beneficial.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have:
- HCPC registration
- Membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
- Demonstrated experience in a specialist area at a postgraduate level
- A minimum of two years of experience as a Speech and Language Therapist
