About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a GP Assistant at the UEA Medical Centre. As a key member of our administrative team, you will play a vital role in supporting our doctors and clinical staff in providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including clinical and non-clinical documents, emails, and phone calls.
- Audio type clinical referrals, medical reports, and other documents as required.
- Deal with and troubleshoot queries from doctors and other staff members, using various communication systems, including SystmOne, GP patient tasks, and Outlook.
- Liaise with patients, hospital secretaries, and out-patient services to arrange appointments and manage referrals.
- Manage and process medical reports, logging requests, preparing dictated reports, and invoices.
- Monitor and maintain accurate electronic records of all verbal and written communication within our systems.
- Liaise with the UEA and Student Services, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
- Coding medical records and assisting with patient registration.
- Use your initiative to resolve queries and make phone calls to outside agencies when necessary.
- Manage and process university medical certificates and redact medical records as required.
- Chase unpaid fees and maintain internal and external telephone lists and contact details.
- Contribute to the development of systems within the office to support clinical and administrative staff, increase communication, and improve time efficiency.
Person Specification
- 5 GCSEs/O Levels at Grade C or above (including Maths and English).
- Office administration experience.
- Excellent keyboard skills.
- Experience dealing with the public.
- Enthusiasm and motivation.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a team and autonomously.
- Pleasant telephone manner.
- Excellent communication skills.
