Job Title: Practice Nurse

Job Summary:

Leatside Health Centre is seeking a skilled Practice Nurse to join our team. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals and service users to deliver exceptional services.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, treat, refer, signpost, and discharge patients and service users
  • Provide routine care to patients, adhering to clinical evidence and NICE guidelines
  • Ensure clinical treatment is safe, effective, and conducted within professional boundaries
  • Participate in vaccination programs, vaccinating patients in the Practice and/or on home visits
  • Work within Practice policies and procedures
  • Contribute positively to the effectiveness and efficiency of the team
  • Undertake the collection of pathology specimens, including blood samples, swabs, etc.

About Us:

Leatside Health Centre is a 16,800 patient practice in the Cornish mining town of Redruth. We aim to provide the best care for our patients, supporting them with their long-term conditions and treatment room care. Our team of 12 nurses, including a Cardiac Specialist Nurse, Diabetic Specialist Nurse, and Family Planning Nurse, work together to deliver high-quality patient services.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with NMC
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Experience of working across a variety of multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with patients, their families, and carers
  • Strong awareness and understanding of when it is appropriate or necessary to escalate issues to clinical team/line manager
  • Ability to organise, plan, and prioritise on own initiative, including when under pressure and meeting deadlines
