About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust. As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with learning disabilities and complex healthcare needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to individuals with learning disabilities and complex healthcare needs, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Support individuals with communication needs, using alternative methods as required.
  • Monitor and record individuals' clinical observations, as required.
  • Assist with patient nutritional requirements, including artificial feeding and supporting individuals with dysphagia.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records, in accordance with current legal requirements.
  • Support individuals to access community facilities, as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and delivery of patient care.
Requirements
  • 3 GCSEs A-C equivalent, including English.
  • Ability to speak and write English to an appropriate standard to fulfill the job requirements.
  • NVQ level 2 in a relevant subject area.
  • Experience of supporting individuals with learning disabilities and complex healthcare needs.
  • Effective communication skills, including non-verbal skills.
  • Commitment to promoting independence and choice for individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Good observational skills and problem-solving abilities.
