As a Vice President, Operational Risk Manager at Barclays, you will play a critical role in ensuring the bank's Operational Risk Framework is effectively implemented and maintained. Your primary responsibility will be to review and challenge the Operational Risk profile of Barclays UK business areas, ensuring compliance with the bank's Operational Risk Framework, Policies, and Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and manage interconnected and emerging risks to ensure the bank's risk profile is accurately reflected.
- Analyze operational risk data to identify trends, patterns, and emerging risks.
- Conduct risk-based analysis of business processes, systems, and controls to assess the likelihood and impact of identified risks.
- Oversee and challenge first-line activities, including Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSAs), Risk Events, and Issues.
- Provide risk-based input into 1st Line Projects, Initiatives, and Strategic decision making.
- Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
Requirements:
- Experience with Operational Risk and control, preferably from a risk, control, audit, or compliance background.
- Retail Banking or Financial Services experience.
Purpose of the Role:
To provide independent review and challenge of the Operational Risk elements of particular risk categories across the bank, ensuring they are carried out in accordance with Barclays Operational Risk Framework, Policies, and Standards.
Accountabilities:
- Risk identification and proactive risk management.
- Analysis of operational risk data.
- Risk-based analysis of business processes, systems, and controls.
- Ongoing research and monitoring of internal and external sources to identify potential Operational Risks.
- Oversight, review, and challenge of 1st Line activities.
- Risk-based 2nd Line input into 1st Line Projects, Initiatives, and Strategic decision making.
- Manage and mitigate risks through assessment.
