Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Contract Scotland. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety management within the housing sector and possess relevant IOSH and NEBOSH qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with industry standards and legislation.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on health and safety matters, ensuring a culture of safety is promoted throughout the organization.
  • Deliver health and safety training and inductions to employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor and review health and safety performance, producing reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, such as the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), to stay informed of regulatory changes and best practices.
  • Manage and maintain health and safety documentation, records, and databases.
  • Support the implementation of health and safety initiatives and campaigns to enhance awareness and engagement across the organization.
Requirements
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a health and safety management role within the affordable housing sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and health and safety management software.
