Position Overview

Role Objective

The Actuarial Trustee Services division offers a comprehensive suite of actuarial and defined benefits pension advisory services to pension scheme trustees, sponsors, and various external entities. This team also delivers non-pension actuarial insights and guidance to different sectors within the organization. The position necessitates collaboration with colleagues in Investment Management, Broadstone, and other external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engaging with colleagues from Investment Management, Broadstone, external administrators, and clients.
  • Participating in external meetings alongside senior team members.
  • Facilitating direct communication with clients through various channels.
  • Ensuring all tasks are performed in alignment with Broadstone's established standards.
  • Overseeing data preparation tasks conducted by junior staff, identifying and rectifying discrepancies as needed.
  • Executing and validating technical calculations for individual pension scheme members, including retirement quotations, trivial commutations, and transfer values.
  • Conducting and assessing technical calculations related to pension schemes, such as actuarial valuations and preparation of accounting disclosures under relevant standards.
  • Proposing enhancements to existing workflows to boost operational efficiency.

Technical Expertise and Qualifications

  • Successful completion of several actuarial examinations required for FIA or FFA qualification.
  • Commitment to ongoing progress in actuarial examinations.
  • Fundamental understanding of actuarial valuations and accounting disclosures under applicable standards.

Essential Skills

  • Exceptional numerical and verbal proficiency.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate complex technical information.
  • Strong collaborative and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
