The Role:
We are looking for a seasoned Finance Manager or Company Accountant to enhance our expanding team. This position is crucial for our success, ensuring precise financial reporting to the Senior Management Team (SMT) and establishing strong financial controls and procedures. As we grow, you will have the chance to engage in exciting new projects and play a vital role in our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: Manage daily financial activities, ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards.
- Reporting: Generate month-end reports for the SMT, including budget variance analysis and cash flow management.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Spearhead the development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Compliance: Guarantee timely completion of year-end statutory accounts, tax submissions, and HMRC obligations, including VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax.
- Payroll & Pensions: Oversee monthly payroll and pension processes in collaboration with HR.
- General Bookkeeping: Handle bank postings, sales invoice entries, and payment processing.
- Month-End Adjustments: Execute month-end adjustments and journal entries, including intra-company invoicing.
- Leadership: Supervise and mentor a finance assistant, ensuring efficient operations and knowledge sharing.
- Process Enhancement: Promote continuous improvement in financial processes and controls, remaining open to new systems.
- Liaison: Act as the primary contact for statutory accountants and HMRC communications.
About You:
You are a highly organized and detail-oriented finance professional with a strategic outlook and an adaptable approach. You excel in a self-directed, fast-paced environment and maintain a strong emphasis on quality and accuracy. Your extensive experience and skill set will be invaluable to our team as we strive for success.
Qualifications:
- Substantial experience in a similar professional accounting role.
- Preferably AAT Level 4 qualified, though we will also consider ACCA or CIMA equivalents based on your practical experience.
