Aerospace CNC Turner Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled CNC Turner to join our team at Team Jobs - Strategic Accounts in Yeovil. As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for turning aerospace equipment in accordance with manufacturing instructions, specifications, and customer/regulator requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Centre Lathe Turning: Manufacture parts from start to finish to aerospace specifications.
  • Operator Control of Quality (OCQ): Ensure high-quality work by adhering to quality standards.
  • On-Time Delivery: Meet delivery requirements by completing work on time and to the required standard.
  • Interpreting Engineering Drawings: Understand and follow engineering drawings, process layouts, and documentation procedures.
  • Working in a Lean Environment: Effectively work in a lean environment to meet delivery requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Engineering Apprenticeship (Desirable but not Essential)
  • Knowledge of Machining: CNC and manual turning or relative machining experience.
  • Knowledge of Hand Measuring Equipment: Vernier, Micrometre, Thread, and Plug Gauges.
  • High Standard of Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety standards at all times.
  • Company Processes and Procedures: Adhere to company processes and procedures.
  • Customer-Focused Environment: Work in a customer-focused environment and achieve targets.
Attributes and Skills:
  • Aerospace Practice: Understand aerospace practice and the significance of safety-critical work.
  • PC Literate: Proficient in using computers and software.
  • Health and Safety Standards: Display essential skills in adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
  • Teamwork: Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility in work assignments and tasks.
  • Initiative: Use initiative to improve processes and achieve targets.
Pay Rate and Shifts:

Pay Rate: £18.34 p/h (Skilled Worker), £18.69 (Indentured Skilled Worker)

Shifts Available:

  • Days: Mon to Thurs (07:00 to 15:30) & Friday (07:00 to 12:00)
  • Days/Late Swing Shift: Mon to Thurs (07:00 to 15:30) & Friday (07:00 to 13:00), Lates - Mon to Thurs (15:30 to 00:00)
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Full BPSS* Screening (*Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including proof of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check, i.e. UK DBS and Drugs Screening.

The successful candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK and be able to pass all appropriate background and security checks.
