About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering best practice systems and problem resolution on all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Safety and Compliance: Set and maintain the highest standards for safety and actively promote a world-class safety culture in all aspects of operational procedure.
  2. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement efforts on infrastructure through standardization of procedures and policies, while delivering performance against agreed metrics.
  3. Operational Excellence: Enable the operations organization to deliver 100% up-time on all customer supporting infrastructure.
  4. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal & external stakeholders to deliver operational excellence for all AWS customers.
  5. Facility Maintenance: Responsible for ensuring that the preventive maintenance of site-critical facility infrastructure is planned and executed to the highest standards, in accordance with AWS procedures.
  6. Facility Monitoring: In charge of facility monitoring & supervision (via BMS, PMS, Walkthrough, etc.).
  7. Project Delivery: Participation in the successful delivery of build-out and retrofit of Data Center infrastructure.
  8. Incident Response: Ensuring organizational capability to react & respond appropriately to any potential customer-impacting event on any component of electrical or mechanical infrastructure.
  9. Documentation and Reporting: Reviewing incident reports, documenting periodic trend summaries, and providing updates and recommended actions to management.
  10. Procedure Development: Draft, update & maintain method statements, standard operating procedures, emergency response procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and all technical documentation pertaining to DCEO.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: Apprentice/trades certified or diploma in an Electrical field, with key electrical competencies (Practice & Theory) and knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls).
  2. Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in operations and on-call support for Data Center facilities / or Mission Critical Plants/ Production facilities, an undergraduate degree in a technical field (EE, MechE, IndustrialE), and ability to draft accurate support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries.
