The Role: Homelessness Prevention Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and driven Homelessness Prevention Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in helping individuals facing homelessness by providing guidance, support, and resources to prevent them from losing their homes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of individuals at risk of homelessness, identifying their needs and challenges.
  • Develop personalized action plans to address the specific circumstances of each individual, connecting them with appropriate housing options, financial assistance programs, and other essential services.
  • Advocate for clients within the system, navigating complex processes and ensuring they receive the support they are entitled to.
  • Build strong relationships with local organizations and agencies to create a comprehensive network of support for individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions and progress.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with individuals facing housing insecurity or homelessness.
  • Strong understanding of the social services system and available resources.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to social justice and empowering vulnerable individuals.
