About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Team Leader to join our team at The Midcounties Co-operative. As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in supporting our managers in coaching, guiding, and coordinating the work of the team to achieve their tasks.

You will be responsible for driving the team to increase sales, secure customer loyalty, and attain store targets. This will involve championing excellent customer service, motivating and supporting the team, delegating tasks fairly, and understanding how the store is performing against financial targets.

You will also be expected to have a good understanding of the products we sell and be able to offer guidance to customers on local products and promotions. Additionally, you will take ownership of ensuring that customer complaints are dealt with professionally and be actively involved with community projects and supporting local community groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion excellent customer service
  • Motivate and support the team by leading from the front
  • Delegate tasks fairly
  • Understand how the store is performing against financial targets
  • Have a good understanding of the products we sell and be able to offer guidance to customers
  • Take ownership of ensuring that customer complaints are dealt with professionally
  • Be actively involved with community projects and supporting local community groups

Requirements:

  • Be customer-focused and deliver excellent store experiences
  • Have a natural ability to listen, interact, and communicate with customers and team members
  • Be enthusiastic and resilient to support colleagues during demanding times
  • Be flexible to work a range of shifts, including daytimes, evenings, and weekends
  • Have confidence and a friendly, approachable nature
  • Some previous supervisory experience is desirable
