GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at a school in Barnsley. As a key member of our staff, you will provide essential care and support to students, helping them develop independence and thrive in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day care and support for students in a residential setting, promoting a safe and nurturing environment.
- Assist with the personal, social, and educational development of students, helping them build life skills, social skills, and emotional resilience.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for students, monitoring and reporting on their progress and well-being.
- Support students in developing independence, including daily routines, meals, activities, and personal care.
- Participate in training and development to enhance your skills as a Residential Support Worker, ensuring all activities comply with safeguarding and child protection policies.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Residential Support Worker or in a similar role working with young people, with a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate, patient, and supportive approach to working with young people.
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a commitment to providing high-quality care and support to students.
- Hold an updated CV and be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS on the update service.
