We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled SENCO to enhance our growing SEND provision.
Role Overview:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in delivering exceptional educational support to children with SEND, particularly those with non-verbal autism and complex needs. This role involves leading our SEND initiatives and supervising a team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) dedicated to supporting these students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct the SEND provision throughout the educational establishment.
- Design and execute personalized education plans (IEPs) tailored to individual student requirements.
- Engage collaboratively with educators, families, and external specialists to ensure holistic support for students with SEND.
- Supervise and mentor a team of SEND LSAs, offering guidance, training, and professional development.
- Promote a nurturing and inclusive educational environment.
- Evaluate and track student progress, adapting strategies as needed.
- Ensure adherence to SEND legislation and institutional policies.
- Provide training and resources to staff on best practices for inclusive education.
- Serve as the primary liaison for families regarding SEND-related concerns and support.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with additional qualifications or experience in SENCO roles.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and supporting students with SEND, particularly those with non-verbal autism.
- Strong leadership and organizational capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for inclusive education and the ability to motivate both students and staff.
- Creativity, patience, and a positive outlook.
