Merco Medical Staffing Limited is seeking dedicated and experienced Youth Support Facilitators to join our team in empowering young individuals.

Your Responsibilities:

In the role of Youth Support Facilitator, you will be instrumental in our mission to uplift and guide young people. Your responsibilities will include leading various sports activities, including multi-sports and basketball, as well as managing programs specifically designed for female-identifying and LGBTQ+ youth.

It is crucial to understand that you will oversee sessions for youth aged 11 to 19, extending to 21 years for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Your duties will encompass supporting the execution of youth activities and additional center responsibilities. This involves engaging with young individuals and assisting in the preparation and facilitation of activities and sessions.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by young people.
  • Proven experience in engaging with youth.
  • Background in a youth club environment, whether through paid or voluntary work.
  • Awareness of the necessary boundaries within the youth/youth worker relationship.
  • Demonstrated patience, tolerance, and adaptability.
  • Ability to handle young people's concerns with respect and sensitivity.

Desirable:

  • Level 2 Safeguarding knowledge.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Youth Work.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and best practices in youth work.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Arrive at work punctually and assist in setting up, dismantling, and facilitating activities for children, young people, and families.
  • Encourage and support individual young people in achieving their personal goals.
  • Help in planning and preparing engaging activities for youth center participants.
  • Deliver multi-sport sessions to young individuals.
  • Foster creativity and artistic expression within the female-identifying and LGBTQ+ initiatives.
  • Assist with briefings and evaluations before and after each session.
  • Occasionally take on the role of lead Youth Support Facilitator when required.
  • Be responsible for opening and closing the facility as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices regarding First Aid, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and Data Protection at all times.

Location: Walthamstow, East London

Compensation: £13.15 per hour (weekly pay)

Working Hours: Tuesdays and Wednesdays during specified evening sessions.
