Commodity Price Risk Management Lead

This role will report to the Global Head of Commodity Price Risk Management and has no direct reports.
As a key member of the Commodity Price Risk Management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to manage price risk across direct, indirect, and guidance commodities for Diageo.
You will employ the use of financial instruments, such as futures, options, and swaps, to achieve best-in-class pricing that meets the business's risk appetite.
Key responsibilities include:
- Executing and capturing derivative hedges and supplier fixations in Diageo's TMS and SAP systems.
- Ensuring compliance with Diageo's Commodity Price Risk Management Operating Mandate and IFRS9 Hedge Accounting requirements.
- Leading the team to ensure commodity categories are effectively understood and researched, using best-in-class price risk management techniques.
- Collaborating with Procurement Category Teams to embed and maintain Diageo standard hedging clauses within supply contracts.
- Supporting the expansion of Commodity Price Risk Management across Diageo's global supply footprint.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in commodity price risk management or equivalent experience within a commodity supply chain or financial institution.
You will have an understanding of commodity markets, risk methods, financial instruments, and valuation techniques, with a specialization in one of Diageo's commodity categories.
Strong analytical acumen and qualitative and quantitative research methodologies are essential.
Experience managing supplier contracts and embedding new pricing formulas and index-linked commodity exposures is also required.
