Project Liaison Officer

Sixty-One, a Bristol-based charity, is seeking a skilled Project Liaison Officer to join their team. As a key member of the MentorMe project, this role will focus on providing relational and practical support to women and men with a criminal conviction, aiming to inspire, engage, and equip the church and individual Christians to join their work.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a mixed caseload of potential mentees and existing mentoring relationships, prioritizing work with women, including regular visits to HMP Eastwood Park and female Approved Premises in Bristol.
- Connect with individuals who have a criminal record, assessing their suitability for mentoring support, and liaising with referral agencies to support existing referrals.
- Match mentees with trained volunteers, introducing them in the community or occasionally in prison, and supervising mentoring relationships to ensure ongoing support and advice.
- Deliver mentoring training to groups of volunteers, assessing their suitability as mentors, and participating in annual MentorMe events.
- Build relationships with community-based organizations, promoting referrals and creating new pathways, and visit prisons to identify suitable referrals.
- Establish relationships with prison staff to obtain suitable referrals, and offer informed signposting to relevant support services.
- Maintain accurate records on the online database, ensuring compliance with GDPR data protection legislation.
- Develop relationships with churches to facilitate support for MentorMe and Sixty-One, and assist with fundraising activities and social media presence.
This role requires excellent people skills, perseverance, problem-solving, presentation skills, attention to detail, and record-keeping. Knowledge and experience around substance misuse and criminal justice are desirable but not essential. The ideal candidate will have access to a car for travel to community-based meetings.
