About the Role

Safran Seats is seeking a highly skilled Senior Materials and Process Engineer to join our Engineering team in the UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining SGB Materials and Processes within the Engineering department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement SGB Materials and Processes within the Engineering department, including management of Material and Process specifications.
  • Support design for manufacture and design for cost for SGB products across the Design and Manufacturing teams.
  • Provide timely release of Engineering data applicable to products, processes, and equipment related to Safran Seats GB and other Seats BU as applicable.
  • Support the qualification, equivalency, and audits of special processes.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to the Design office and wider Engineering team for new product development and existing projects.

Requirements

  • Subject Matter Expertise in engineering Materials & Processes.
  • Ability to educate the team on new material and processes in accordance with engineering plans and industry standards.
  • Redaction and management of material and process specification in their competency domain.
  • Technical support through their competency domain, dealing with material and process non-conformities via appraisal of parts that have presented a failure in test or in use.
  • Management of obsolescence issues relating to materials and processes, ensuring alternative M&P commodities are qualified in time to support customer requests.
