At Safran Seats, we stand out in the aerospace sector, collaborating with both major airlines and airframe manufacturers, boasting the most extensive portfolio of seating solutions among all suppliers. One day, you may engage with a leading airframe manufacturer, and the next, you could be working with some of the most recognized airline brands globally.
In the UK, our focus is exclusively on the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide-body aircraft, with dedicated industrial and engineering teams located in various regions.
The primary objective of this position is to develop, implement, and uphold SGB Materials and Processes within the Engineering department, which includes the comprehensive management of Material and Process specifications.
This role spans across Design and Manufacturing teams, aimed at facilitating design for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness for SGB products.
You will be accountable for the timely release of Engineering data pertinent to products, processes, and equipment related to Safran Seats GB and other applicable Seats Business Units.
Additionally, you will provide essential expertise and support to the Design office and broader Engineering team for both new product development and ongoing projects.
Your responsibilities will also include supporting the qualification, equivalency, and audits of specialized processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in Design, Development, and Industrialization initiatives
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert on critical topics related to engineering Materials & Processes, educating the engineering team on new materials and processes in line with engineering plans and industry standards.
- Draft and manage material and process specifications within your area of expertise.
- Provide technical assistance within your competency domain, addressing material and process non-conformities by evaluating parts that have failed tests or encountered issues in use.
- Oversee obsolescence challenges related to materials and processes, ensuring timely qualification of alternative M&P commodities to meet customer demands.
