Learning Disability Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Disability Nurse Specialist to join our Intensive Support Team in Barnsley. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with service users, their carers, and the wider multidisciplinary team to assess and support individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Manage an individual caseload, providing assessments and support to service users receiving inpatient care and within the community.
- Work collaboratively with service users, carers, and the multidisciplinary team to identify goals and develop care plans.
- Provide training and advice on lifestyle changes and adaptations to support individuals with learning disabilities.
- Develop and maintain effective communication networks within the team and with other agencies to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Contribute to the appraisal of Learning Disability services and identify opportunities for development and improvement.
- Substantial post-registration experience working in learning disabilities.
- Supervision of staff and students.
- Experience of a range of mental health/learning disabilities settings.
