Environmental Risk Advisor Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Risk Advisor to join our team. As an Environmental Risk Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring that our operations are conducted in a responsible and sustainable manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide environmental risk management support to all areas of the business, including Energy and Landfill, Processing, I&C, and Municipal.
  • Develop and implement environmental management systems to ensure compliance with environmental permits, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Assist in the management and update of the Group IRM platform for the UK.
  • Compile and submit annual reports, PI reports, and waste returns to the EA.
  • Produce management plans that accurately reflect regulatory requirements.
  • Provide advice and guidance on incident management to reduce the risk of pollution to the environment.
Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent in Environmental Sciences or alternative environmental qualifications.
  • At least three years' knowledge of management systems, including writing, reviewing, and maintaining.
  • Good project management skills to ensure correct information is provided within statutory timescales.
  • Detailed understanding of project management approaches.
  • Knowledge of legal reporting requirements, including waste return, energy efficiency, and permit requirements.
